Our main objectives is to record all the whale shark sighting along the east coastal of peninsular Malaysia, by working with as many as dive instructors/dive pro/operators that we are able to reach.
A few details will be needed:
- Location
- Date/ Time
- Photo/short video
- sizes(estimation)
- Time of stay(in minutes)
- Water temperature
By having the details, we will integrated with moon’s calendar to determine the best possible timing of the migration, particularly the time where whale shark reach to perhentian island(specifically) and reaching our eastern coastal line of Malaysia(generally), up to the southern part of Tioman island.
Our volunteers/staffs will be required to verified the details and keeping an up to date record. With the solid information, we may be able to propose to the authority for the sustainable ‘whale shark sighting’ which in return controlling the numbers of tourist to certain spots and avoiding direct contact to their habitats.
